FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

Do I need to use QuickBooks?

No. QuickBooks is optional. Estimating, scheduling and time tracking all work without it. If you do use QuickBooks, connecting it keeps your job data and your books in sync without double entry.

What does the guided setup actually look like?

It’s built right into the software. Guided tours walk you through finding your real overhead number, setting your labor rate, entering material costs by unit and setting up your estimate categories, using your own business. You can stop partway and pick it back up later.

What if I don’t know my overhead number?

That’s exactly what the guided setup helps you figure out. It walks you through what counts as overhead and how to calculate it from your actual expenses. You don’t need it figured out before you sign up.

Can my employees use it? Is there a mobile app?

Yes, your employees can use the software. They get their own view that shows only their hours, their task list, the materials and tools for the day, and a way to send photos. They can’t see your estimates, pricing or any other business data. Companion mobile apps are coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. Until then, you and your crew can add Measure Twice to your phone’s home screen and it opens with one tap.

What’s the difference between the monthly and annual plans?

Both plans include every feature and the guided setup. Annual works out to $99 a month instead of $129, comes with a longer free trial, and includes a 30 minute Zoom call to help set up your business.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. On the monthly plan, cancel anytime before your next month starts and you won’t be charged again. On the annual plan, cancel anytime to stop it from renewing. If you cancel within 30 days of your first annual payment, you get a full refund. After that, you keep access through the end of the year you paid for.

Will it help me learn the rest of the software?

Yes. Beyond setup, there are guided tours for estimates, scheduling, time tracking, finances and settings. Start one any time from the Help page.

What if I get stuck?

Send a note from the Help page in the software or through the contact page here. You’ll hear back from a real person, usually within one business day.

What kind of businesses is this built for?

Contractors and service businesses that do project based work: landscapers, excavators, painters, remodelers, cleaners, handymen and similar trades. If you quote jobs, have employees and want to know what you’re actually making, it was built for you.
